The project
Rally Bike Stations
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in Quebec, SDC Montréal Centre-Ville commissioned Îlot 84 to set up a mobility project. The result was Rally, a pilot project of self-service bicycle stations on the SDC territory.
Two models of stations have been developed: the Service Station, which can accommodate 38 bikes, and the Balneaire Station, which can accommodate 55 bikes.

The stations have been strategically positioned to serve the various points of interest in the area, to allow a smooth transition from the bike path, and to occupy the street in such a way as not to obstruct any useful path.
OBJECTIVES
- Create an innovative project to encourage Montrealers to commute safely downtown

RESULTS
- 1,359 bicycles counted by our squad
- 9572 bike passages detected by counters
- 14 liters of hand sanitizer used
- Over 1,500 km cycled by the team
- 85% of survey respondents found the facilities helpful for getting around downtown
