Located in the heart of downtown, Metcalfe Plaza comes alive all summer long with free outdoor events, live music, wellness activities, cultural pop-ups, and community gatherings.

What is Metcalfe Plaza?
Metcalfe Plaza is your downtown summer hangout. From June 18 to September 26, 2026, it’s a pop-up space featuring live DJ sets, food vendors, wellness programming, and more, powered by Amashowza and Aire commune.
What events are happening and where can I find the schedule?
Metcalfe Plaza hosts DJ nights, dance parties, wellness programming, markets, pop-ups, and special community events every Thursday to Saturday. We post our weekly lineup and event schedule on Instagram at @MetcalfePlaza.
How do I get to Metcalfe Plaza?
Metcalfe Plaza is located at 151 Metcalfe Street in downtown Ottawa. The site is easy to reach by walking, biking, public transit, or nearby paid parking. The closest O-Train stop is Parliament Station on Line 1.
Is Metcalfe Plaza free to attend?
Yes! The plaza is totally free to enter and hang out in. Some private, corporate, or partner-led activations may have separate access details.
Is it 19+?
Metcalfe Plaza is an all-ages space! Everyone’s welcome to hang out. That said, there’s a licensed bar on-site, if you’re 19+, don’t forget your ID to grab a drink.
What food and drink options are available?
We feature rotating local food vendors and a licensed bar on-site. Vendor offerings change throughout the season and may include vegan, vegetarian, halal, and other dietary-friendly options. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, but outside alcohol is not permitted.
When is Metcalfe Plaza open?
Metcalfe Plaza is open Thursday to Saturday from 12 PM to 10 PM throughout the season. Programming varies by week, so check @MetcalfePlaza for the latest schedule.
Can I work or chill there during the day?
Yes! We’ve got open-air coworking space during the day with seating, tables, electricity, and public Wi-Fi. Bring your laptop and stay awhile.
What if it rains?
We’re rain or shine! Some events might shift slightly depending on weather, but the plaza stays open.
Is the plaza accessible?
