The project
River Hall
Commissioned by the City of Calgary and in collaboration with Belleville Placemaking, Aire commune designed, developed, and animated River Hall, an iconic summer gathering place in the heart of downtown Calgary.
Since 2024, this project has transformed Lot 6, located on the banks of the Bow River in Calgary, into a vibrant space where local culture, gastronomy, music, and community moments come together. Designed as an inclusive and accessible gathering place, River Hall celebrates neighborhood life through free, family-friendly programming.
After a successful pilot edition in 2024, the project expanded in 2025 with five weeks of cultural and social activities, bringing together more than 80 local partners for concerts, food markets, yoga classes, and creative workshops.
