The project
Lumipano
Lumipano is an interactive light installation that transforms public space into a vibrant canvas for creativity. Presented on Sainte-Catherine Street in front of Place des Arts as part of LUMINO, it invites visitors to create temporary illuminated artworks by arranging colourful rods within large backlit panels.
Inspired by the classic Lite-Brite toy, the installation encourages play, exploration, and imagination. Participants can create their own patterns or recreate designs accessed through a QR code, offering an intuitive, engaging, and interactive experience for visitors of all ages.
Designed by Mélanie Tessier and fabricated and installed by Aire commune, Lumipano helps transform Montréal’s winter into a season of creativity and connection. Co-presented by the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership and Place des Arts, the installation brings a free, immersive artistic experience to the heart of downtown.
